OscarL: translation layers is used anyways. and DXVK is rather ingenious. And load times is much faster on linux if you use the XFS filesystem or another fast system (ext2/3/4, btrfs and ntfs is relics of the past) It is all about code execution speed and wait latencies.

even on windows you can try dxvk in some games. The windows 7 patch for Mafia anniversary edition (1,2 and 3 in a single game) and saints row 3 and 4 enhanced has patches.

since windows 7 does not have dx12 it can not play those games. Steam lets you install them, then you download the patches from nexusmods or github and add the dlls to the game directory and it works. Same with Mass effect games.

I tried to fix the SoundPlay compatibility issues but failed. Missing symbols should be fixable but work.

IIRC, SoundPlay played some nice tricks with symbol naming mangling on its binaries, trying to repel naive attemps at reverse engineering :-)
