Good morning, random thought. Would anyone care if multi-monitor worked like workspaces does now? which means that every window is always on one display and one display only

I thought a bit about the other case that is common with windows beeing on two displays and think this doesn't really make sense for Haiku, for one our windows are usually small, don't need more than one screen per window.

This would also I think make it a bit easier to implement. add to that that the overlapping windows look pretty ugly on every implementation I've seen... DPI, color calibration, trying to render text at the right resolution. hell, even mainline ubuntu was still drawing window decorations partially onto the wrong screen with fullscreened windows last time i checked

Anarchos: Yes, it is possible, but no you can't currently. There is a patchset on gerrit that pulkomandy is rebasing sometimes, but nobody has tested or reviewed it yet...

list the drivers and apps you run before shutdown. Then shutdown. Try to reduce number of apps and driver and shutdown.

I am a bit tired of working on shutdown issues myself. As any shutdown problem was always suggested to be ACPI so I have looked and worked on it for so many different things.

A bit interesting if it is cpu related. It would be nice to have logs on shutdown progress.

Before shutdown you can also disable second cpu and see if it shutdowns correctly.

Older ACPI required shutdown to happen on first CPU. Unfortunatly turning of other cpu's while shutdown causes issues for everyone.
