<zard> Wow!
<zard> Now that's a lot of Haiku!
<coolcoder613_32> and of the other three, one has 64MB of RAM, one is a raspi, and one is an m1 mac
* zard has one computer and two laptops, all three of which have the i3 tiling window manager
<coolcoder613_32> In other words. i have Haiku installed on all of my x86 computers made after the year 2000
<zard> And I often use vnc to remotely connect to my Haiku, like I am right now
<zard> coolcoder613_32: Well put :^P
<coolcoder613_32> although the Haiku install is a bit borked on one of them
<coolcoder613_32> and bfs `recover` KDLs
* zard was planning to do a little bit of work on Haiku-PyAPI. Successfully got none done :-D
<zard> (ie, didn't do any work on it :P)
<zard> gtg now, bye!
<coolcoder613_32> It's going to be a really hot day today
<coolcoder613_32> 39 C
<zard> Hmm, must be summer by you. Going to be relatively cool here
* zard understands celcius fairly well, but Farenheit better
<coolcoder613_32> wanted to go to a swap meet, but too hot
<zard> Well, anyway, bye!
* coolcoder613_32 mutters darkly about americns and their backward units
<zard> :P

* OscarL shouldn't be here today but... oh welll... he has some topics to share/discuss.
<OscarL> as Haiku, and Haiku-related projects gets bigger... it seems obvious (to me at least) that the number of reviewwers (or their available time). becpmes a "choke point"-
<OscarL> We can't realistically count even on our super-achieverers (waddlesplash/kallisti5[m]/PulkoMandy/korli/Begasus/3dEyes/etc) to keep up with everything involving Haiku/HaikuPorts/HaikuArchives/
<OscarL> I've noticed that, for example, davidkaroly is a proper dev on Haiku, but he doesn't has merge powers on HaikuPorts (or even a "developer" badge on the forumes :-D).
<waddlesplash> HaikuPorts is a separate project, technically, with its own merge rights
<OscarL> What I'm aiming at... shouuldn't we start thingking about some "tiered" level of trusts.
<waddlesplash> developer badge is indeed a missing thing then
<OscarL> waddlesplash: I can appreciate the distinction, but in this particular case, (david), seems weird for me for him to not to have merge powers. He surely deserves thems, IMHO.
<waddlesplash> well if he's contributed a number of high quality recipes then he's eligible
<waddlesplash> I honestly don't pay too close attention to a lot of HaikuPorts goings on for the most part. if the other HaikuPorts mainstays like Begasus and augiedoggie think he should get access then I'll add him
<augiedoggie> his PRs usually get handled by diver and others, i don't usually look them over but i don't have a reason to reject him
<OscarL> I'd love for david to get commit access to HP. He knows what's he's doing.
<OscarL> (unlike me :-P)
<OscarL> My point is... I'm starting to see "maintainers's burnout symptopms".
<OscarL> Everyone kinda "expects for Begasus to check stuff"... sort of thngs... that do not end well on the long run.
<augiedoggie> i don't expect it, he just has more time to devote to it and handles things before i get to it
<OscarL> Sorry if my poor lauguage makes it hard to undersatand my meaning...
<OscarL> I'm not trying to complain on ANYONONE in particular.
<OscarL> just poiting out what I see as future/possible problems.
* coolcoder613 is (trying) to make a chat app (kinda a mockup ATM) https://0x0.st/HhAV.png
<OscarL> In my mind... I have this "hiearachy of trust" sorf of thing.... kind of "formallly stablishing the status-quo"-
<OscarL> Real life exammple.... enven if i suck at Python, Begasus tends to askme for Python thins. (heck, even korli did, and I almost shat my pants :-D)
<coolcoder613> So you mean formalising "Begasus does QT/KDE, OscarL does Python, etc"?
<OscarL> coolcoder613: not really. I know my limittions. I trusts Begasus and davidKaroky far more that I trust my self :-)
<OscarL> waddlesplash: semi-retated point. Pe. I had commit acces to Pe sins beunited.org dats, during OSDrawer dats, same on BerliIOS days, and seems I've lost them AFTER the move to GitHub.
<coolcoder613> Size of my mockup: 1703 index.html
<coolcoder613> 1203 style.css
<coolcoder613> 2906 total
<coolcoder613> Thats in bytes
<OscarL> Considering that... I do wonder if I could get my commit access re-instated for Pe, abd few people is seemingly paying attention to Pe.
<OscarL> I don't intend to "poweer-creep" my way up. But if no one else os acually reviewing 20+ y/p PE code... why not me?
<OscarL> My half-backed thinking here is.... Hauju deve have "+3", they can bestow "+2· powers on the litss of "Begasyss/auguiediggie/etc", the katter cioud grant +2 on folkjs that have "provent commitment"... and so one below, if neccessary?
<coolcoder613> whoa
<OscarL> s/" Hauju deve have "+3"/"Haiku could have "/
<coolcoder613> barely readable
<OscarL> coolcoder613: Really soorry. Not on ong my best days. I'll thake that as my que to siging off. Sorrry,

<OscarL> FWIW... I've seem my fair share of builders fixing (or at least pointing out) architects' mistakes (both in actual buildings, and on software).
<nosycat> Makes sense.
<nosycat> Haiku is part of why I shifted my attention to C++ lately.
<nosycat> But the native API is the real issue.
<nosycat> Most people are happy to have ports until we can do better.
<nosycat> But everyone hopes for native apps.
<nosycat> And I don't have the energy for yet another thing.
<Begasus> And some of us don't have the skills :)
<toydragon> haldo
<Begasus> Haldoha ToyDragon :)
<nosycat> It's a conundrum. At least cheering people on is easy.
<nosycat> Hi there!
<Begasus> Fetching package for devel:libkdegames6 ... here's one missing that needs pumping ...
<Begasus> k, who invented this shortcut for Terminal? Alt-Enter, gave me a scare :P
<nosycat> I think it's how you go full screen in Windows apps.

<Begasus> Hi Calisto :)
<Calisto> Heyyy
<jmairboeck> Begasus: Oscar as in the ICQ protocol?
<Begasus> part of probably jmairboeck :)
<Begasus> and no, it's not choqok :)
<jmairboeck> that would be a chat client like Telepathy then. Choqok is a Twitter client. Those are 2 different things :)
<Begasus> I think Telegram already has most covered?
<Begasus> was checking a build for Kopete :)
<Begasus> done for today, cu peeps!
