coolcoder613: best way I can think to do that is to have a machine with either two WiFi cards or one WiFi card and one Ethernet port, then use some form of NAT-based internet connection sharing to bridge the networks
<arraybolt3>
I've done this kind of stunt in the past (though never successfully sharing Internet out a WiFi connection), using NetworkManager on Linux.
<arraybolt3>
If you're trying to do that with Haiku, I hope you're a networking master :)

Hi zard :)
* Begasus
wonders how long it takes to build haikuwebkit ...
<zard>
Hello Begasus :)
<zard>
Not too long these days
<zard>
As long as I don't touch a header file that is used by everything everywhere :P
<Begasus>
define "not too long"? ;)
<zard>
<10 minutes :)
<Begasus>
well you already have a "build" setup, I'm starting fresh :)
<zard>
Oh, that would take my computer ~12 hours. Sit tight :P
<Begasus>
lol
<Begasus>
not counting extracting etc I guess ;)
<zard>
Ah, you're starting from scratch. That will take a while
<zard>
Hope you have enough disk space, or you might need some of my tricks
* zard
fit webkit into 20GB
<Begasus>
disk space shouldn't be an issue
<zard>
Build speed will mostly depend on memory. If you have 12GB, you should be able to use 4 cores when compiling
<zard>
Unless you want to manually increase and decrease the amount of cores its using as it goes between memory-intensive and memory-unintensive tasks.
<Begasus>
16GB RAM, 8 cores/16 threads
<Begasus>
could be I nuke it in the process :)
<BlueSky76>
Hi Begasus!
<Begasus>
Taking a break from the forum BlueSky76? ;)

nuked haikuwebkit (with haikuporter), takes too much time for me atm :P

drumr7 hit 'space' at boot to get verbose mode
<drumr7>
No worries. I have put it off for a long time but I’m interested in using it again as there has been some progress. Had a similiar issue but it loads more but not into the system on an AM4 laptop.
<drumr7>

if I only want to build Haiku locally and only for x86_64 arch. (on Haiku itself) then I dont really need to use cross-tools ??
<_dodo75>
e.g ./configure -j24 --target-arch x86_64 --use-gcc-pipe && jam -j24 -q @nightly-anyboot should do be valid?
<Nephele>
the commandline for configure looks wrong to me, but other than that; technically yes. If you have an EFI system. However the build will build the mbr bootloader normally, which requires a 32bit toolchain again
<Nephele>
if you want to only use 64bit toolchain you can comment it out however
