<PawanYr> Question for developers: How do I use the Debugger? I am trying to test it with Tracker and am unable. I set the DEBUG variable in my UserBuildConfig, and it is building the binary (it shows up in the debug_1 folder and is much bigger than on my normal install); I install the nightly image and copy over the source code, to the partition, but I always get a bunch of popups asking me to 'locate' lots of information files, followed by some
<PawanYr> unclickable text that says 'Source file unavailable.' Not sure what I'm doing wrong here?
<kallisti5[m]> PawanYr: weird.. so the debug var should enable debugging symbols within the binaries. They still need to be matched up to the source files if you want to see the exact source lines where a crash happen
<kallisti5[m]> generally, Debugger lets you locate them if it can't find them itself automatically
<PawanYr> Yeah, that's what my googling indicated, but it doesn't seem to allow me to unless I'm missing where that option is. Is there some specific file structure that's needed? I just copied over the src directory to the home folder but that didn't help
<kallisti5[m]> I think it only asks once for the source files. if you select the wrong thing it might not ask again
<kallisti5[m]> I think it wants you to select the top level directory of the sources, and not the actual source file?
<PawanYr> I've also been trying on fresh live anyboot USBs and it doesn't ask there either (unless it doesn't work on live anyboot?)

<PawanYr> Yeah, I saw that! Exciting; I've been using Haiku for years now and I finally found it in me to to try to actually change something that was bothering me :)

<PawanYr> Also, thanks for putting up with me as a new contributor; I know I screwed up the coding style bunch at first, I'll try to do less of that next time

<BrunoSpr> Text, photo, video, sound, something should work, perfect work!
<BrunoSpr> There should some professional apps like KRITA which is working nice on HAIKU, same like Telegram!
<Begasus> it takes developers to make that happen BrunoSpr
<Begasus> most of it is already around to do daily stuff
<dovsienko> BrunoSpr: my personal impression is that various software companies use this newspeak term "passkey" to mean various things
<dovsienko> ...which tend to mean downgraded security
<dovsienko> the exact way how they downgrade it may or may not be compatible with Haiku
<BrunoSpr> So, using a passkey is not that secure at all?
<Habbie> passkey should always mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebAuthn
<Habbie> and it could be fully implemented inside a browser, although i bet the browsers currently rely on the OS for it

<BrunoSpr> To difficult and the ordinary user should not worry about it
<BrunoSpr> No for me I just need to know if it is easy to use and save to use, not more
<Habbie> as far as i know, passkeys, when implemented well, are easy and secure

<kallisti5[m]> There. if you're bored, you can watch my desktop running haikuporter buildmaster, building every port for riscv64 on my SiFive unmatched, and uploading them to a local s3 server 😆

<kallisti5[m]> lol, oh
<mikezt> :-)
<Habbie> it also doesn't have an MMU i think :D
<kallisti5[m]> if your device has u-boot, in theory all you have to do is write Haiku to an sd card or usb
<kallisti5[m]> requirements are: riscv64 , Probably 2GiB of ram or more
<kallisti5[m]> might work with 1GiB, but that would be tight
<Habbie> hehe. it's 32 :D
<Habbie> (riscv32)
<mikezt> kallisti5[m]: I can try it during the weeekend.
<kallisti5[m]> ack. yeah. We haven't bothered with 32
<Habbie> sounds fine to me
<Habbie> i don't even know if there are 32 boards out there that would make sense -except- they are 32
