(I was trying to do a "cat /dev/power/acpi_thermal/0")
<Begasus>
latest tokodon back operational here :)
<Begasus>
Hi BrunoSpr OscarL!
<OscarL>
Hello there Begasus! :-)
<Begasus>
KF5 updated to 5.114.0 :)
<OscarL>
I've got a "new" netbook to play with. Single-thread performance almost the same as my main desktop, but only uses 6 watts instead of 100+ :-D
<Begasus>
111 packages ... (a few left)
<Begasus>
nice OscarL!
<OscarL>
Too bad that it doesn't has an etherner port, and the wifi card doesn't seems to be able to connect :-(
<Begasus>
same on this one, hence external dongle
<OscarL>
touchpad also doesn't works :-D (nor sound.... darn audio card is USB, LOL)
<Begasus>
lol
<Begasus>
other then that ... :)
<OscarL>
yeah... other than that... awesome! :-P
<OscarL>
I guess I'll end up using it with Windows/Linux (for Youtube/webbrowsing), and give the Phenom more "Haiku-time" on bare metal :-D
<OscarL>
This "new" netbook has some impressive low battery usage at idle (on linux, after applying "powetop --auto-tune"). Apparently, it is using around 2 watts. Crazy stuff!
<Begasus>
You are sure it's running?
<OscarL>
had to double check :-D
<OscarL>
Will make up for a nice second screen for reading docs (besides using it to build/test Python on linux for comparing results with Haiku's)
<Begasus>
got so many packages around I forgot which ones I should keep around :)
<OscarL>
Begasus has more packages than Amazon, EBay, and FedEx combined :-P
<Begasus>
still got 5 plugins in /boot/system/lib/plugins/designer that should go to $addOnsDir
<Begasus>
lol
<Begasus>
113 packages for KF6 already
<scanty>
Begasus, any progress with Kontact?
<Begasus>
no scanty, had to revert to 5.93.0 to fix some things
<scanty>
okay, hope you can get to it soon... if i have a good mail client i can actually use haiku
<Begasus>
now bumped KF5 to 5.114.0, but not all are in place yet (have to rebuild the akonadi ones for instance)
<scanty>
any way i can help?
<Begasus>
don't count on me :) I'm sure 3dEyes is way ahead of me there
<scanty>
ah okay... no problem. :-)
<Begasus>
not really, got all recipes in place, it's only the final problems that need a "real" developer ;)
<scanty>
i see.... i'm not really a "real" developer.
<Begasus>
neither am I (should have studied more in my youth I guess) :)
<scanty>
me too... i studied electrical engineering instead
<scanty>
studying software was boring for me
<Begasus>
just a lumber here
<BrunoSpr>
Ahoi Begasus... Is Caligra supposed to work again? It still crashes here!?
<Begasus>
I launches here BrunoSpr
<BrunoSpr>
I must have installed some problem app by accident then!=?

I will try updating to hrev57531 to see if that works... Web+ has a image rendering problem, on Falkon it is ok!

<scanty>
is there still a large number of people using 32-bit installs?
<scanty>
meaning, is it worth it to continue developing an app for both 32 and 64 bits
<BrunoSpr>
As long as there are 32bit notebooks and computers yes
<nosycat>
I am.
<BrunoSpr>
Mee too
<jmairboeck>
BrunoSpr: anything interesting in the crash report?
<Begasus>
the other one is still running 32bit here
<BrunoSpr>
Begasus, where is Calligra stored at? HaikuPorts?
<Begasus>
BrunoSpr, could you check the files in /boot/system/data/mime with "File Info"?
<BrunoSpr>
I will try
<scanty>
I have a 32-bit version of my NES emulator for haiku. I will have to test the package though... would anybody be interested in such a piece of software?
<Begasus>
they should point to shared_mime_info in the attributes
<Begasus>
probably still open issues on snes scanty, so maybe?
<nosycat>
It's kind of tricky for me to test most apps.
<BrunoSpr>
application folder points to palapeli too
<Begasus>
lol, that was the folder attribute :)
<Begasus>
only the "files"
<Begasus>
right, palapeli is involved too, fix comming up
<BrunoSpr>
the files all point to palapeli
<BrunoSpr>
the folders to mime...
<Begasus>
yeah, need to clean those in the recipe
<Begasus>
can you uninstall palapeli and check again?
<BrunoSpr>
except the folder image and text they point to calligra
<BrunoSpr>
Palapeli ok
<jmairboeck>
you could probably check all files at once in Terminal with something like: find /boot/system/data/mime -type f | xargs catattr SYS:PACKAGE
<BrunoSpr>
Begasus... oho it works now! ;-)
<BrunoSpr>
jmairboeck... nice now all files point to shared_mime_info

welp... usb_rndis changes still do not make my old phone work... but at least I didn't KDL while testing them :-D

a day without KDL is a good day unless it's random hangs or crashes or reboots ;)
<OscarL>
too bad I *did* KDL today while doing `cat /dev/power/acpi_thermal/0` on a "new" mini-laptop :-P
<Habbie>
ouch
<OscarL>
wish I was smart enough to make use of KDL to narrow down the issue :-D
<Habbie>
:)
<OscarL>
something something "SMAP violation"... and pretty sure it was on one of the snprintf() calls on `acpi_thermal_read()`... but... that's as far as my brain goes :-D

PulkoMandy: Good to confirm, thanks! Was reading something similar on a bug that korli fixed on a different driver.

Tommorrow will see if I can reproduce it (never had such issues with that driver on other hardware).
